I need something to occupy my time. Usually, it's homework, but there is the rare occasion that I actually get ahead and then, I want something to do to break the monotony. I used to just go over to my friend's house, but that is no longer an option and now I find myself with lots of free time. Tonight, I took myself out to dinner at the Pita Pit and sat outside and read (I'll admit, some of it was more getting ahead on homework and some of it was fun). But I can't do that all the time, I hate spending money like that. So next time this happens, what do I do???

  1. My top activities to do by myself when bored:
Read in the park (I did this more in college when I was stressed to the max!)
    People watch
Create something (even if it is a really bad drawing)
    Watch trashy TV
    Clean/Organize
Go to the movies (but that coast money)
Bug Ashley for book 2 ;)
Write in our notebook (which reminds me I have to send that to you!)

That's all I have for now!

  3. Hm... Well, yoga is great. I also recommend more fun reading. Maybe you need a few easy, brain candy books? Might be a nice contrast to the heavy stuff you're reading for school.

There's always crafting. For me, it was quilting, but you could easily do knitting. Baking is also fun, and you could do it Actor and Housewife style and give away whatever you make.

Hm... Call your sister and ask her if she has any jobs for you (book research, blog research, trip planning help, etc.).

But don't do the "bug Ashley for book 2" thing because that baby's not coming out until December.

  5. Scrapbook your first year of college with lots of journaling so you don't forget it.

  6. I'm all upons the bugging Ashley thing. And not just about her next book, but anything really. Just bug her. I mean, why not, right?
How about keeping up with your German? Go to BBC Languages.com and do a lesson - it's fun!
Write to Elder O'Connor. (Saw his grandma Carolyn Reis the other day)
And I agree w/Emily on the art thing - draw, paint, whatever.
    And yoga - yes!
